I genuinely think the kids did have fun, but to me I felt like there wasn't near enough play time. The kids only got to play 2 games and jump on the air thing for 20 mins. Then we had cake. We also had snack trays for parents or kids if they wanted. The eating time felt like it was being elongated by trying to hand out snacks after cake, which wasn't what they were for. I would have rather had the kids able to play for that extra 20 mins. It just didn't feel worth the money for such a short time.
Allow more time for parties. For the amount of money that is spent, 90 mins is not enough time. I think 2-2.5 hours is more reasonable in terms of time. I felt like we were rushed once they had an hour in the gym.
This is our second year in a row that we have used The Little Gym for our daughter's birthday. I have to say that last year was way better than this year. Here are some reasons why: 1) We were not told that we could have more than 15 kids in our party, I actually had to call to see if we could since we kept getting invite for our daughter's friends in her class and it looked like there was more than 30 kids invited for theirs! 2) I would have thought that there would be more than 1 person running the party. The person in charge of the party was great, but it would have definitely been nicer to have more than one person for that many kids! 3) Last year the 2-3 teachers in charge of the party ran 'stations' and helped kids use the equipment safely, like the big balance beam, the vault, the uneven bars, etc., which we LOVED. None of that happened this year. 4) Also, someone did call to confirm numbers and theme like last year which was great, however, they did not do anything related to my daughter's Trolls, Dinosaurs, Princess theme. Last year, they customized a few activities that related to her baseball and dinosaur theme, which Rose LOVED. 5) Finally, the multiple teachers at her party last year took care of everything, the cake, drinks, gathering the gifts, etc., I hardly did anything, which is what was advertised. However, this year, I helped with all the cake and drinks and cleaning up. I guess I was just disappointed and was expecting more of last year's party.
We thought the staff did a great job and would have liked to have additional tables as we had limited space to set up snacks, gifts, and both cakes as we had 2 bday girls. I was not told about the additional $15 to add an extra birthday child until 2 weeks after I asked a staff member. I was told about the extra fee by the owner. The last leg of the party (cake time) was rushed and would have been better to cut a few minutes from gym time as to not rush around.
I like that there are structured activities mixed with free play/exploration. Set-up for the room was very cute (and I only had to add a few accents, but only because I wanted to), and I love that I didn't have to clean up at the end! Everything ran smoothly, with someone else keeping an eye on the clock so I could chat with parents and guests!
I would like to know if it's possible to have an "open gym" time. I enjoy the classes and my kids as well but my 3 year old and I don't enjoy much when other kids scream and don't pay attention to the class. 90% of the time they are screaming and playing and it gets hard to hear the class and instructor. This is not a one time thing, it keeps happening every class we go. As a parent I would suggest those kids to either assist to an hour where the gym is open for them to run wild. I understand they are kids, but I make an effort to pay for a class that my kid is actually listening but gets distracted by those kids
I feel like classes are good exercise for my kid but she doesn't get a lot of personal attention in most classes because they're too large and there is focus on trying things but not getting good at anything.
We really liked the party and the kids had a great time. I would have liked more instruction on the equipment. More clear and concise instructions would have helped the kids. A few tiles unnoticed the instructors give lengthy instructions and all the kids look to their parents for clarification. Otherwise we had a blast!
The instructors are very kind. They know their stuff and never push anything on the kids. It is all very fun and my kids love it. It builds confidence in children. I know my one year old is so much more confident since he started at the little gym. It really is a special place!
We loved that is was so easy, fun, and stress free! All we had to do was drop of the decorations, and then all the set up and clean was provided by the Little Gym. It was such a fun party and all the kids had a blast!
Good way to run off energy in the little ones! Structured yet flexible, loved that they incorporated LEGO into my son's party. Both teachers were awesome and everyone had such a good time. Only feedback is the gym room itself was somewhat cold - would have loved a little warmer temp.
It has such a focus on how a child's mind functions in learning new skills versus just another tumbling class. I defiantly see growth and development in my daughter since participating in The Little Gym.
The staff is really great with kids. They're fun and patient with them as well. My son was enrolled to help him on his large motor skills and to follow directions in a group setting. We recommend The Little Gym to all our family and friends.
