Programs and activities are geared in a manner to help all participants feel welcomed, learn and grow. They are also presented in a way which elicits understanding for all.
Coordination and sign up is seamless and scheduling of practice and games are set in advance. Staff is accommodating and knowledgeable of programs and services.
The flexible times for practice in the evening. I share custody for my son and my time with him does not start till 7:00 pm and is able to attend practice at 7:30. His mom is not flexible and this time slot allows him to practice with the other kids.
This is an older Y, not fancy or glitzy, but still a great, great place to swim, work out, and make new friends.
The staff, especially the instructors, are all friendly and knowledgeable. And the members are friendly and always ready with a "hello, how you doing?"
The gym is well staffed and they can help you with the large variety of exercise equipment available. Individual training sessions can also be arranged, although there is a fee. Personally, I think it's worth it, and far less than one might pay at other gyms.
I love the pool. It is indoors and open all year. There are times scheduled for water exercise classes (great!!), for free swims, lanes designated for laps, and family swims. The life guards are great.
Members come from all over the San Antonio area (I live on the east side) because of the friendliness, programs, and great atmosphere.
The trainers/wellness coaches are all amazing. I like the different fitness classes available to take. I like that you can get fit/healthy/lose weight with the classes & the gym equipment that is available. I appreciate the kindness from the staff.
