Miss Mary at the YMCA is truly a gem.
I look forward to seeing her every morning at 5:30 a.m.—a time when most people are still shaking off sleep, but there she is, with a big, bright smile on her face. Her presence alone is uplifting, and what makes her even more special is that she always takes the time to talk to you after your workout—not because she has to, but because it’s who she is. That’s just her genuine spirit of kindness and service.
Her warmth and humor make a real difference. She makes me laugh, and I know I do the same for her. I always leave feeling better than when I arrived—more encouraged, more motivated, and simply lighter. On the days she isn’t there, I find myself asking about her, because she’s become such a meaningful part of my routine.
Yes, the YMCA has great equipment and facilities—but Miss Mary is one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back. She’s the kind of person who makes early mornings feel less hard, and the world feel a little more kind. Truly an amazing person... [FIRST NAME REMOVED]
