People are very nice, also employees, and the facilities are always clean and well kept.
I attend the Senior exercise class 4-5 days a week and have been since before Covid. I thoroughly enjoy the instructors and class members and this is a big part of my live.
Before I started going to Y-it hadn't opened yet-I went to Planet Fitness for a few months. The exercise area was all on same floor and the weight-lifting area was right there among machines, There were signs up in WL area that told people they needed to set the weights down, not just drop them.
WL area at Whittier Y has no such signage and those bone-heads just drop them. Our exercise room is directly below that area and is a BIG distraction to our classes. And an even bigger annoyance,
I would think that management/people[ in charge might do something to change this behavior. It's not only seniors who use that room but children as well.I think everyone would appreciate it.
Please consider it.
Thank you,
Cheryl Bickley
Love the childcare center. Facilities are top notch.
However, lane pool is a bit of a letdown.
Only 3 lanes, shallow end is extremely shallow (can’t flip turn or you’ll hit your head), and there are no indicator flags on one end (safety issue, so if you’re doing a back stroke you don’t know when to turn over).
Great pool area! Clean, modern facilities. Need dedicated pickleball area, though. E-gym always too crowded…maybe add another set? More beginner aerobic classes needed.
I have taken Pilates with Kara Best for the past year. She is amazing. Her patience and kindness are 2 of her best qualities. She explains the moves and helps everyone to become the best version of themselves. She is an asset to the Y and your Pilates program.
I don’t live close enough to this ymca to visit often. But I like to go on the weekends rather than the Beaumont y, my home y, because it is more spacious and the weight machines are arranged in a way that makes it very way to circuit train.
