Womenbox classes have been an amazing addition to my workout routine, I feel so much stronger than I did before I started coming to class! The workout is tough but fun, Merissa keeps it interesting and each class is always different which I appreciate!
WOMENBOX has completely helped me to push out of my comfort zone in so many ways and add variety to my current fitness routine. If not wearing any make up while sweating your heart out (letting all your stress out on the bags!) alongside friendly women doesn’t empower you, I don’t know what does!
I love the intensity of the workout which includes resistance training and actual boxing techniques. There are always options available for modifying a move to address any physical limitations. It's been a while since I've been able to take a class, but I will be making an assessment of how to fit in classes since the scheduling has been updated offering more a la carte options.
I also love the look and feel of the website, ease of use and quick customer service when I encounter an issue which has always resulted in user error. :)
I’ve been hooked from the first time I went to Womenbox. Each class is different so I never get bored. And Merissa is an awesome coach! She’s tough and encouraging at the same time. I can’t say enough good things about WomenBox!
Amazing workout with a mix of boxing, strength training, and conditioning that changes every day. Merissa programs the workouts to make sure throughout the week you get a good balance of arms, legs, and core work, which prevents overtraining and gives you a total body workout. You’re always challenged and pushed in new ways. Boxing instruction is the best in the DC area. Merissa has been boxing over 10 years, and there’s truly no match for that type of expertise. She makes sure everyone learns proper punch technique and defensive moves, and spends extra time with beginners in class. Great people, supportive environment, and small class sizes ensure everyone gets individual attention and instruction. Womenbox is by far my favorite workout and always the highlight of my day.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! from the moment you walk in you feel like you belong. The work out is intense but you can go at your own pace and still feel amazing afterward. The girls all motivate eachother and it just makes you feel so good no matter how much experience you have. def going back!!
Merissa is an excellent coach. She always takes the time to make sure you know what the proper technique is. Additionally, she has modifications for everything that help adapt to people's skill levels. She knows how to help push you out of your comfort zone, and is very supportive. She cheers everyone on, and some how knows when each of us needs that extra support in class. She is very knowledgeable about all of the techniques and she has an excellent ability to demonstrate everything. She is also always upbeat and very positive all the time. Even when she doesn't have a voice. She still finds a way to keep the class going. She always shows up for us. The environment is full of really great people as well. She has cultivated a wonderful community of people. WOMENBOX is a welcoming environment. This is the one workout I always come back to.
WOMENBOX is a great workout for both beginners and experienced athletes. Regardless of your athletic ability, you’ll find the classes are challenging, fun, and motivating. If you’ve never boxed before, this is a great way to learn. I used to feel self-conscious and embarrassed about going to the gym. WOMENBOX has allowed me to feel more confident at the gym. The class sizes are small, so you are given the specific attention you need. I would definitely recommend others join WOMENBOX. It’s so easy to fit this class into your schedule.
The atmosphere created makes working out fun and everyone is so supportive of each other. I like that the emphasis is on learning how to box correctly and each move is explained so you not only know how to throw the punch but why and when you should use it.
I love the group dynamics of the classes offered through WomenBox. With that said, Merissa never fails to give individual encouragement, support and adaptation to exercises, when needed. There is room for all levels of fitness in the classes, and Merissa is like a magician as to how she reads each student's capabilities and supports and challenges so readily. The classes are dynamic and all encompassing. It is never the same old routine. Each class is unique and challenging, and, most importantly, fun!
