I liked that Woody's was there and had bicycles to rent, including the Verve+ hybrid e-bike that I rented. I was in Tennessee for the Cycle Sequatchie event in Dunlap (flew into Chattanooga from Tucson AZ), and Woody's was the closest/only bike shop that rented bikes anywhere near there. If someone was in a similar situation, I would recommend Woody's. That said, Woody's was a little disappointing. They did not have road bikes -- acoustic or electric -- to rent; no one was there to open the store on Saturday until ~9:30 (we had driven from Chattanooga anticipating a 9am opening and needed to get back to Chattanooga by 11 Eastern time); and they initially overcharged me for the rental (but did process a credit to my credit card after a phone call).

Woody's is a terrific local bike shop. They can repair and fine tune your road bike or mountain bike and are extremely friendly and welcoming. The owner, Robert, is terrific, knowledgeable and runs a fun shop. Sewanee is lucky to have such a great bike shop right in downtown.

I stopped by Woody’s for a rear derailleur adjustment, and they started working on my bike right away while I waited. During the process, they discovered a few other issues that needed attention, so they carefully disassembled the rear wheel, inspected every component, and reassembled everything before making the derailleur adjustment. While I waited, we chatted about local trails — they even gave me a trail map and some great beta for future rides. Everyone at Woody’s is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. The repair cost was very reasonable for the amount of time and care they put in. I highly recommend Woody’s for any bike service needs.

This is a great little bike shop with a very personable and generous owner. The bikes are great and repairs are finished quickly and accurately. My recent interaction was for a donation for a charitable event, but I have bought several bikes and bike accessories at Woody's.

The folks at Woody's are knowledgeable yet approachable for me - both as a woman and as a person who knows very little about bikes and their parts. Robert, Speed, and Eli take the extra time to connect and really understand what it is you need or want. I really love that they don't try to upsell me when discussing repairs or maintenance. They keep and reuse many parts from bikes that come through their doors, which ends up saving folks money over time. For example, if they have a used seat that will do for your bike and purposes, they'll put the used one on rather than charge you for a new seat. These are folks who care. Woody's takes the time. What a gift.
