There was a lot to do and my kids enjoyed it. My only complaints are we had the final week of camp and the grounds were really littered from the summer. Additionally I paid for the bunk 1 app and photos were never loaded. Otherwise the camp and staff were great
Camp Carter offers a safe and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and make lasting memories. There was an attentive staff, diverse activities, and a focus on building confidence and independence.
They were inclusive for my child with adhd, GAD. ASD. This is my daughters 3rd yr attending and she always comes home feeling a sense of belonging and new found independence and growth.
This was my son’s first year ever at camp Carter. The first day was a bit of a bummer but every day after that, he loved!! He did have some issues with the food (pasta water all over his plate, poorly seasoned foods) but all-in-all, we’ll be back!
I really appreciate that Camp Carter emphasizes keeping kids active and connected with nature.
The first summer camp my son ever attended had a philosophy centered around trusting kids to make their own decisions. That meant he spent the entire summer in a blackout room glued to an iPad and eating nothing but pizza.
Camp Carter has been a completely different experience. My son comes home excited to tell me about their daily hikes (which sometimes include treasure hunts), the delicious meals (of which he often gets seconds), and all the fun activities they do together.
We’ll definitely be back! Once his siblings are old enough, they’ll be coming too.
First year to attend Camp Carter and it was his favorite camp all summer! He loved that it was a set up like a real summer camp with the water activities, ropes course, etc. I didn't get to see any photos of his time at camp which was the only downside, but I know he had a great time. Staff were always extremely nice and courteous at pick up/drop off. My son hopes to come back next year and try the overnight camp out! Thanks for offering this camp to the kids!
