Jojo loved all of it! The facilities, the food, the activities, the counselors and all the friendships that were formed :) She had a great time and can't wait to go back again next year!!
My child had so much fun at this camp.
She learns a lots like coping skills, organizing skills, leadership skills etc
I think it’s very good idea for them to stay away from any electronic tools. They enjoyed the nature. Thank you for the stuffs who took care of the kids. I want to send my child next year again!
Camp Seymour is a fantastic experience for my kids and every year they learn so much about themselves & others. Both will continue to attend Camp Seymour until they are finished with High School.
This was my daughter's second year, and she had a blast. She loves the staff, she had fabulous cabin counselors, and she made some very close friends. Special shout out to the medical staff who helped her through a terrible illness. We have already recommended this camp to friends (some of whom attended this year). It is a very special place for our kid, and we hope to make it to family camp one of these days!! As a former Y camp counselor, this camp has all the feels for me <3 thanks for being a special safe place for my kid.
This was my third grade son’s first experience with overnight camp and we were a little worried about how it would go. Drop off was extremely well organized and painless. I loved how two counselors came to greet us and one stayed to check in about any concerns we might have. I got to check in on him throughout the week by looking through the hundreds of photos from his session of swimming, archery, crafts, sports, climbing and dancing. When I picked him up he clearly had made connections with other campers, wanted to show me all around, and sang all of the songs all the way home. He said the food was really good and the reptile room was a highlight. I had a feeling he would be a “camp kid” like I was growing up, and I think he has found a home for the next many summers.
I liked the independence that my kids were able to exercise. I have a little guy with severe ADHD and social anxiety. He did the 5th grade camp and loved it, and was very eager to try summer camp for a whole week.
But the day of, he became very nervous. He didn't know anyone in his cabin or anyone at camp other than his sister and her friend. He reverted to his shell at drop off, and I was sure I was going to get a call asking me to pick him up early.
But no... not a peep. Despite his reservations and anxiety, he stuck it out. I scoured the pictures every day and while he was his usual reserved self, I saw that he particpated, and in one picture, he even smiled!
I picked him up today and he was again reserved and shy around peers and his camp counselors. But I could tell he had a good time. He told me about all the things he did, even earned 2 buttons, and could not stop talking!
But the definitive proof he had a good time? HE WANTS TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR!
I could not be more proud of him. And I am so thankful and appreciative of what had to have been a very positive experience for him this week!
Camp Seymour was a transformative experience for my son, he enjoyed every moment and came home with the biggest smile. He's so excited to visit again next year.
The enthusiasm of the camp counselors. You can tell they really want to be there and love the job. The positive environment is excellent as well as an emphasis on kiddos really pushing themselves out of their comfort zones and trying new things. It's been such a wonderful experience for my kiddos.
