Great pool, warm water. Good gym. Very friendly staff and other members. Excellent lifeguards. We recommend the Senior Y to everyone we meet. Good coffee and seating area too.
My husband and I mainly come to use the machines in the weight room. We do cardio and then lift weights. Someday I will try some of your other programs and activities.
I feel like the Center offers a variety of classes. I enjoy participating and interacting with others in the class. I know that I am staying mobile and I’m healthier for being a member..
As you go to the entrance you are welcomed by two lovely planters decorated for the season. Inside there is a very friendly atmosphere, a wonderful warm water pool, and lots of opportunities to exercise with both classes and machines. I live in Omaha but drive to CB a couple of days each week to take advantage of their offerings.
The programs are designed to enhance our lives through exercise. We are encouraged to work at our own pace and compare ourselves to only how we've increased our ability to do more. I like that we are not pushed but recognized as we've grown in our own abilities.
The group activities are the best and a great workout. I go three days aweek and the Larkin center the other days .My balance and stability have improved 150%. I was falling down at once or twice a month now I'm fine .I walk my dog twice a day and up hills and couldn't before now can walk with her anywhere and it seem to be much of a problem.
I mostly use the pool and exercise equipment. I like the warm water for my joints although it hasn’t been as warm lately. I wish the locker room was warmer. It feels so cold after getting out of the pool. Even if one exercises on the equipment, if you shower, it is cold in there. Lifeguards are great, especially Laurie.
