They help children learn discipline, engage them in many creative activities, and reward them for their good works.

Great for kiddos and parents alike

Beautiful location and we were lucky enough to get one of the new cabins. I think the check-in process and Leader meeting were very efficient, although a site map and printed itinerary would go a long way. The zip line and rock climbing were impressive. Archery and BB guns could use some new equipment. All in all, it was a great experience and we'll be back! Thank you!

I love the opportunity to be outdoors with my daughter and network and connect with other dads in a Christian environment.

I enjoyed it very much

It is great to have the opportunity to do activities outside and let my daughter "just be a kid." There aren't screens, there aren't distractions and they can run around doing a lot of fun activities and have some independence. My daughter now loves fishing, which she never would have known without Adventure Guides.

It is a great way to connect kids with their fathers and the community. Also, AG stafff is super helpful and friendly! Specially Isabella Hess. Now, the staff at the actual camp sites varies from super friendly to not friendly at all!!! Horses staff is on the great side!

Great activities and location! Cabins are solid as well.

Pretty great experience. We had a leaking ac drain in the cabin and a couple toilets didn’t work well. Other than that it was fantastic! Definitely coming again!

YMCA Adventure Guides is such a wonderful experience with your kids and fellow parents. I understand there may be logistical limitations preventing this as your camp transitions week to week from visitors - however if Friday check-in could be 12p instead of 4p - this might allow for campers to have the opportunity to work in all activities. Saturday comes at you so fast; it can be hard to squeeze in everything (horse riding, archery, shooting, canoeing, fishing, oh my?!) Beyond that - love what they make accessible and available. This is our 3rd campout experience and will be back for the remaining 2 (before he ages out :-(...). Although I do have a disappointed 8yr old this time around because dad managed to leave without getting his Spring 2026 camping badge for his new vest. My kid never wants to leave and the staff is very nice.

Friendly and helpful staff. It does seem like more effort early on needs to be made to gather ALL of the awards ceremony awards from each school. Someone came by our camp on day of however NONE of our girls were given and award and what seemed like EVERY Lamplighter boy did.

It is extremely important to spend time with the children in a wilderness setting. The kids and dads have so much fun working and playing together.
