I love that YMCA childcare provides a safe, nurturing space where my grandson can grow and has grown socially and emotionally. Beyond basic care, they emphasize core values like respect, responsibility, honesty, and kindness. What I appreciate most is their whole-child approach: programs that balance academics, social-emotional learning, physical activity, and creativity to give children a well-rounded experience. Had it not been affordable and accessible, I don’t know how I would manage. The staff truly care, and I value their commitment to teaching positive values and creating a strong sense of community.

We absolutely love YMCA ELC!
Our daughter is so happy there, and we couldn’t ask for a better team to care for her. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in her well-being. Every day, we receive regular updates and the sweetest pictures that brighten our day and help us feel connected to what she’s learning and doing. It’s clear they go above and beyond to make each child feel loved and supported. We’re so grateful for the nurturing environment they’ve created—it truly feels like a second home for our daughter.

Thank you so much to the staff at East Port Orchard. This first year of kindergarten was a rough transition for me and my daughter and I always appreciated knowing that my daughter enjoyed her time in morning care so much. I'm sorry we rarely made it. I especially appreciate the few times that my husband was stuck at work and I was able to get my daughter into day of afternoon care. Those days saved us.

There has been noticeable positive changes in the program this year. The staff seem more engaged and to be enjoying being around children again. I appreciate getting pictures and news about what they have been doing. I am very grateful for whatever has been done to make the environment more nurturing and hope your staff continues to get support. Thanks!

The kind and welcoming staff! Our daughter loves being there and we always receive a warm hello when we walk in the door. Whenever we forget to communicate that our daughter will not be coming that day, they always reach out immediately to ensure her whereabouts are known. We also appreciate that Y Care offers childcare on 1/2 days and during breaks so families can continue receiving the support they need. It is so nice to know that when I cannot be there with my kids after school, I am really glad the Y care staff can be.
