This is the second year my "adopted......Syrians refugee) kids have attended camp. At first they were upset that they weren't going to have the same counselors that they had last year. But no worries. They love this year's crew just as much.
They talked about camp all year long...looking forward to June because they knew it would be starting again. They have learned SO much English. They've been on some great field trips. They've passed swimming tests. They've played and made new friends.
The Y granted them partial scholarships and I have paid the rest. I wish I could send every kid in Wilington to camp. They'd be happier and healthier in every way.
Thank you to the YMCA and Purpose Church and all the counselors.
My son has been going to the summer camps for years now and loves it. The counselors are always so nice. He loves the field trips/activities and kids. He loves having access to swim in a pool.
We think that the summer camp is great, our granddaughter is loving it. She comes home happy and it's a great experience for her, and we thank you for it.
We’ve been doing summer camp for years, but this year my kids have absolutely loved it and said the counselors are the best ever. I feel so comfortable with them at the Y and know they’ll be well taken care of!
My kids complain quite a bit about the Y aftercare program but I haven't heard a single negative thing about the camps at Purpose. The interactions with the staff I have had been friendly and I have not had any concerns about their safety or well being.
The YMCA has been absolutely amazing to both of my kids, twin 8 year olds, both the after-school program and the summer camp, I plan on keeping my kids here year after year,, the program director Madison is awesome, the counselors have been great as well, can't say good enough things about the Y, and they keep the kids very active too which is great for their overall health, thank you so much YMCA!
